Sophie Ellis Bextor fans have been left fuming after the BBC failed to show her Glastonbury performance over an entire weekends worth of performances.
Crowds at the Pyramid Stage were whipped into a frenzy by the singer on Sunday in a gig that she dubbed a “career highlight”.
But her dynamite set was not aired by the BBC leaving viewers at home fruitlessly searching through iPlayer to try and find the performance.
After posting a snap from the iconic Pyramid Stage on her social media the 44-year-old singer was inundated with requests from fans asking where they could watch for themselves.
'I’m getting a lot of messages asking about watching my @glastonbury set on iPlayer,” she posted on her Twitter account.
“Obviously, that would have been wonderful, but sadly due to hours on the day it wasn’t possible for the BBC to cover my set. Next time…! Xx”
Her response was deemed “gracious” by fans but the BBC was the target of their wrath for failing to put on the barnstorming gig.
“'Very gracious of you Sophie. And shame on you @BBCiPlayer!!” one fan Tweeted.
“'Rude of them not to cover your set, I kept checking and hoping that it would appear on iPlayer,” another added.
“'I've been looking for it. Really disappointed,” said a third.
“'Gutted,” commented another, adding: “One of the few chances I could see you live and BBC does that.”
While another asked: "Why does the BBC not like fun?"
Mirror Online understands that camera crew shift patterns meant that filming on Sunday at the Pyramid Stage began at 1.30pm.
A BBC spokesperson said: “This year the BBC made over 90 on-demand sets available to audiences on BBC iPlayer over Glastonbury weekend, in addition to our live streams from the five main festival stages, our British Sign Language live stream of Pyramid Stage performances and Glasto-Cam Live.”
Meanwhile across the festival on the Other Stage Lana Del Rey seems to have suffered a similar fate.
As well as having her gig cut short after she turned up 30 minutes late to her show, the BBC seems to have removed her performance from iPlayer as well.
Fans of the the singer, 38, were left twiddling their thumbs after she kept the crowd waiting while she was doing her hair, she said.
After her gig came to an abrupt end, with festival staff unplugging her mic as she hit the midnight curfew, fans looking for her show to watch again on the iPlayer were also left disappointed.
A BBC spokesperson said: 'Lana Del Rey's set was broadcast in full on Saturday night and we are delighted that we can include selected tracks as part of our on-demand offer on BBC iPlayer, as agreed with the artist.'
