We’ve already seen Sony’s new 2023 Bravia TVs, which include OLED, Mini LED, and Full Array LED options, but now we’re finally learning more about pricing and availability. If you’ve been eagerly awaiting one of the new Bravia TVs, the time is nearly here--at least for most models.
All of these feature Sony’s long-standing Cognitive Processor XR, which boasts a new ability to further reduce noise paired with upgraded hardware for even better visuals. Expectedly, these options live in the upper-tier of TVs and aren’t presented as a budget option.
Let’s break down cost and preorder details model by model for the X93L and X95L Mini LEDs, X90L Full Array LEDs, and A80L OLEDs. Regarding the A95L QD-OLED (Quantum Dot OLED), we’re still waiting for Sony (SNEJF) to share more information on the high-end OLED, which will go head-to-head with Samsung and LG.

Bravia XR X90L LED TV (Starting at $1,299 at Sony)
Sony’s 2023 Bravia XR lineup starts with the X90L at $1,299 for a 55-inch size. As a Full Array LED TV, this doesn’t use self-emitting pixels like an OLED or a bunch of miniature LEDs like a Mini LED TV. Instead, the X90L has a bunch of standard-sized LEDs arranged as local dimming zones that light through filters to create a picture.
Over 2022’s X90K, the X90L features more dimming zones for more control when creating an image, and this, paired with the updated Cognitive Processor, should make for a more immersive image. This should result in less blooming and a significant increase in overall brightness. In terms of design, Sony is ditching plastic edges for higher-end aluminum finishes.
Whether you want to watch TV shows, movies, or even games with a connected console like a PS5 or Xbox Series S, the X90L will be up for the challenge. Visuals are up to a full 4K resolution at 120Hz with a variable refresh rate, and the HDMI ports are up to the latest 2.1-spec. You’ll also find these key specifications across much of the 2023 Sony TV lineup.
The X90L will be available in five sizes that will all be up for order in June from Amazon or Sony. If you need a TV sooner, consider the 2022 X90K from Sony or other TVs from Hisense, TCL, LG, or Samsung.

Bravia XR X93L (Starting at $2,399 at Sony)
A bit more visually impressive than the X90L will be the X93L or X95L, which feature Mini LEDs. Essentially, thousands of miniature LEDs behind the glass layer for better control over creating images. As with Sony’s 2022 X95K, we expect the X93L and X95L to pop with vibrancy and an overall high brightness but also be able to deliver crisp, stark contrast points.
The X93L doesn’t change much aside from the updated image processing thanks to the Cognitive Processor XR over the X95K. We’re expecting these to be pretty much neck and neck. That’s not a bad thing, though, as the X95K delivered a rich visual experience, and thanks to repositioned audio hardware, it should boast a wider soundstage.
Sony’s X93L is up for preorder now at Amazon or the direct store in three sizes.
- 65-inch Bravia XR X93L ($2,399 at Amazon or Sony)
- 75-inch Bravia XR X93L ($3,299 at Amazon or Sony)
- 85-inch Bravia XR X93L ($4,999 at Amazon or Sony)
Bravia XR X95L ($5,799 at Sony)
The X95L is a new higher-end Mini LED option from Sony and sports a 20% increase in local dimming zones over the X93L. This means more Mini LEDs for even more control when creating an image, wider viewing angles, and minimizing the chances of blooming.
Sony’s X95L only comes in one size, a large 85-inch, and will arrive for preorder on May 8.
Bravia XR A80L (Starting at $1,899 at Sony)
While Sony isn’t sharing pricing just yet on what could be the best TV of the year—the A95L QD-OLED—the entry point for OLED is getting more clarity. The A80L OLED is over 100% brighter than the 2022 A80K, which should let it pop with vibrancy. It also gets enhanced visual processing tricks like the 2023 Bravia XR family.
Considering that the A80K was an excellent OLED, we fully expect the A80L to deliver a great viewing experience. Folks with an A80K likely don’t need to rush out to upgrade, especially as that big jump in brightness will probably be with specific content poised to take advantage of it.
With the expectation of the largest 83-inch A80L, Sony will start taking preorders for the three other sizes on May 15.
- 55-inch Bravia XR A80L ($1,899 at Amazon or Sony)
- 65-inch Bravia XR A80L ($2,599 at Amazon or Sony)
- 77-inch Bravia XR A80L ($3,599 at Amazon or Sony)
The 83-inch A80L will be up for preorder in June at $5,499 from the same two retailers. Hopefully, when that rolls around, Sony will also have more to share on the A95L QD-OLED.
