Sonam Kapoor Ahuja is currently promoting her new film Veere Di Wedding, and when she goes on a film promotion tour, she packs an extremely glamorous wardrobe. (Remember all those PadMan looks?)
With Veere Di Wedding hitting theatres on June 1, Sonam has been jet-setting around India to promote the film, one polished press conference and photocall ensemble at a time. And she has been posting plenty of outfit details on Instagram about her incredible designer looks.
The stunning actor gives major props to her stylist-sister Rhea Kapoor for her style success, and we have to agree: Sonam has given new meaning to the term ‘minimalist cool.’
Opting for sleek silhouettes like the green embroidered and embellished velvet dress from Erdem’s fall 2018 collection she donned for Veere Di Wedding’s music launch on May 23, or the sexier floral two-piece from Dubai-based designer Huda Al Nuaimi she wore on May 26, Sonam’s been able to play up her newly-wed charm and assert herself as a fashion force to be reckoned with, yet again.
How does she strike such a slick balance? The devil is in the details.
Sonam knows how to punch up her Veere Di Wedding wardrobe simply by adding all the right accents, from the subtle-yet-sexy earrings from Eurumme Jewellery she wore with her statement-making distressed denim saree and white shirt from Diksha Khanna to the art-deco feeling silver tribal earrings by Suhani Pittie she showed off on May 18.

Sonam looked lovely and elegant — and seemed to be channeling her newly-wed vibe — in Rashmi Varma’s gilt smock jumper and gilt saree dress. Her look was equal parts fun and classy, and she even matched her outfit with Ralph and Russo pumps and jewellery from Amrapali Jewels and Apala by Sumit.
We’re loving these floral separates from Keti Chkhikvadze that Sonam paired with a crisp white shirt. The jacket with exaggerated shoulder detail and embellished pearls turned heads at Veere Di Wedding’s Delhi promotions. To edge her look further, Sonam added Jimmy Choo pumps, pearl earrings from Azotiique and a tiny black handbag from her fashion line, Rheson.
Sonam is ready for summer in floral separates and a matching jacket from Payal Pratap. She completed the three-piece blush-coloured rose print ensemble with a stack of bangles, a watch, pastel Jimmy Choo sandals and gold oversize earrings from Niiaashi.
Sonam looked ravishing in a green embroidered and embellished velvet dress from Erdem’s fall 2018 collection. She completed her look with ear-cuffs and earrings from ARAYA Fine Jewelry and Gehna Jewellers, strappy black Christian Louboutin heels and added an unexpected twist with her sheer polka-dotted black stockings.
Sonam also sported a printed green, burgundy and white Erdem dress, and added extra oomph with a black belt and matching Manolo Blahnik pumps. We can’t get over how cool her dark lips look. Soft florals paired with unexpected chocolate lips go surprisingly well together, no?
Sonam kept it light and summery in a lemon yellow chanderi chikan waistcoat kurta set from designer label House of Kotwara. The dynamic was in the outfit’s details — look to the embellished button-down-style neckline and quirky colourful chandbali earrings by Amrapali Jewels. She looked like a totally ethereal goddess.
It wasn’t so long ago that the idea of seeing a denim saree provided a serious shock. But that all changed within the space of a few years, thanks to celebrities, including Sonam, who showed how denim can absolutely be dressed up with their game-changing deconstructed drapes. Sonam once again killed it in a noteworthy edgy-meets-romantic ripped denim saree by Diksha Khanna. Sonam’s sleek look nods to the fabric’s casual nature while delivering an elegant, edgy final result.
How unexpectedly cool is this asymmetrical tiered black and white Mohammed Mazhar maxi dress? We kind of love her black satin sandals from Casadei and silver tribal earrings from Suhani Pittie.
Sonam has been spotted wearing an abundance of statement floral prints. Ladies, this bold and beautiful maxi skirt and coordinating crop top set from Huda Al Nuaimi proves now’s the time to bare your abs. Do it in style in a feminine floral ensemble, like Sonam, which she played up with bright blue and white studs from Sunita Shekhawat.
Only Sonam can rock metallic silver seperates like this: She wore the ultimate Diane von Furstenberg pants and jacket set. We love how Sonam showed off her love for black with dark accents, including her striking Nike sneakers and a comfy black bralette.
