A loving son has been left disgusted after a council worker allegedly laughed as he lay flowers on his mother's grave.
Stephen Munro travelled to Cardonald Cemetery in Mosspark last Wednesday, October 26, to pay respects to his beloved mum.
However, the moment was shattered when he saw the 'mess' created nearby.
The 39-year-old told Glasgow Live: "I went through to Cardonald Cemetery to put some flowers down on my mum's grave.
"She died of Motor Neurone Disease about four years ago. The family have gone out and noticed that the condition of the cemetery has been quite poor at the times we've been going.

"But on this particular day it was really bad.
"I walked to the other side where my mother's grave is and I became aware of two Glasgow City Council vans and there was some work being done.
"There were gloves on a tombstone next to my mum's grave, there were two tires sitting on top of another grave and there was a blue outlet weaved throughout the graves.
"I was putting the flowers down on my mum's grave and there was one council worker who was kind of sniggering at me, nodding his head at the other guys. The other two weren't paying attention, it was just this one guy who gestured his head to look at me. I was absolutely disgusted.
"They didn't seem to care at all. My brother showed up 10 minutes later and he saw it and thought it was disgraceful.
"It's like they aren't treating the dead with any respect."
The Munro family have been visiting the site for the last four years and say that the cemetery is slowly deteriorating.
Stephen said: "My mum wanted to be buried there with our grandparents, I wouldn't have picked that area. From mine and my family's point of view, the area suffers from neglect. The main entrance is pristine and looks perfect, there is no sign of neglect.
"It's not until you go further in you start to notice things. There's dog mess, there's no bins, they are badly neglected.
"When I saw the site around my mother's grave it was disgusting."
He added: "I travelled all the way from Balerno. I made a conscious decision to take a day off work to come through and buy flowers and lay them at my mum's grave.
"I know the council suffers from cuts, I'm not naïve to any of that. But I wouldn't leave gloves on top of a tombstone or tires on top of a grave, I wouldn't do any of those things. That's just disrespectful."
A Glasgow City Council spokesman said: “We are very sorry to learn the member of public was upset during their recent visit to the cemetery.
“It is often necessary to place gravedigging equipment on graves within the cemetery but work is always expected to be undertaken in an appropriate and respectful way.
“Staff will be reminded of the need to remain as sensitive and discreet as possible when delivering a service in our cemeteries.
“Bins are situated at the entrances to the cemetery and there is no excuse for someone failing to pick up after their dog.”
