Beloved son was "in the summer of his life" when killed in brutal robbery
The family of a man killed in a gang robbery said he was “in the summer of his life” and hoped to become a dad.
Thomas Edmunds was killed after he was put in a chokehold as three men and a teenager, all of whom he knew, attacked him to steal cash for drugs and alcohol.
Kevin Nethercote, Terence Bennett and Kevin Condliffe were all jailed last week for conspiracy to rob while Thomas Broadhurst, who put Mr Edmunds in the chokehold, was jailed for manslaughter.

In a moving statement given to the court last Friday, Mr Edmunds’ mother Sheila described how her son’s death had come when he was finding his footing in life and as he hoped to become a father.
She said the 36-year-old loved spending time with his nieces and nephews and, like other family members, wanted kids of his own.

Huge crowd gathers to pay emotional tribute to Ava White on her 13th birthday
More than 100 people gathered to pay tribute to Ava White on what would have been her 13th birthday.
The gathering was held last night (Sunday) outside Anfield stadium and was attended by members of Ava's family.
The crowd, mainly made up of schoolchildren, brought along balloons of the figure 13 or the letter A, which were released at around 6.30pm.

They also let off flares and a small number of fireworks, and sang songs to remember Ava.
Hundreds gathered for a "beautiful and emotional" service at the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral last month as mourners from across the city came together to pay their respects to the much-loved youngster.
But family and friends wanted to do something special to mark what would have been Ava's 13th birthday.
