Son Heung-min sends heartwarming letter to Tottenham teammates ahead of pre-season

Son Heung-min welcomed his "brothers" to South Korea when Tottenham landed in Seoul to start their pre-season tour on Sunday.

Antonio Conte's side have travelled to Son's homeland to greet supporters and play friendlies against a K-League XI and Sevilla. Tottenham's pre-season will finish later this month with fixtures against Rangers in Glasgow and Jose Mourinho's Roma in Haifa, Israel.

Son is regarded as one of the greatest footballers ever to represent South Korea. The 30-year-old forward, who shared the Premier League Golden Boot last term with Mohamed Salah, has won 102 senior caps and is a six-time Korean FA Player of the Year.

The prolific ace was already in Seoul as Tottenham made their way to South Korea. He waited at the airport to greet his colleagues as they arrived, shaking hands with the likes of Conte, England skipper Harry Kane, club captain Hugo Lloris and CEO Daniel Levy.

Son also penned a touching message to his team-mates. "Welcome to Korea," it read. "I missed you, brothers! It is very meaningful that you came to my country I know it's a busy schedule, but I hope we have a great time with good energy and great memories!

"And I want to take this opportunity to say thank you very much, I'm always happy to be with you in Tottenham and I'm proud of the goals we achieved together. Thank you always. Let's go for this season something special. Sonny."

Will Tottenham win a trophy under Antonio Conte? Let us know in the comments below!

There is a feeling among many within the game that Tottenham can achieve something special this coming season. Spurs were eighth in the Premier League when Conte was appointed manager in November but rallied to qualify for the Champions League.

Tottenham are also enjoying a great transfer window. They've already signed Ivan Perisic, Clement Lenglet, Fraser Forster, Yves Bissouma and Richarlison. It's believed they're closing in on a deal to sign highly-rated defender Djed Spence from Middlesbrough.

Speaking in May, former Tottenham midfielder Jamie O'Hara backed Conte's side to challenge for trophies under Conte... but only if Levy and the board supported him in the transfer market. Right now, it appears the Italian is being backed by Spurs.

"I feel like Conte is getting the best out of every single player that he’s got," O'Hara told talkSPORT. "But if you look at the players he’s brought in like Rodrigo Bentancur and Dejan Kulusevski, if you add a few more of that quality, I think we could win a trophy next season I really do."

O'Hara went on to say: "It ain’t going to be the Premier League, let’s not get carried away. But, I think we could challenge for an FA Cup, a Carabao Cup. I think that’s where we need to start and be realistic, consolidate another top four position.

"Now I look at the team and I look at the players, they seem a lot happier than they have been in the past. The fans are absolutely behind everything Conte’s doing and he is an absolute class act."
