Son Heung-min is hoping to complete his national service in South Korea after returning to his homeland over the weekend.
Currently recovering from the fracture to his right arm that he sustained in February's late 3-2 win over Aston Villa, Tottenham confirmed on Sunday that he had returned to South Korea due to 'personal reasons'.
With Premier League football on hold at present due to the coronavirus outbreak, Jose Mourinho's Tottenham squad are training at home as they look to keep up their fitness levels before they can return to Hotspur Way.
The 27-year-old is currently in a two-week quarantine after flying in from London but he did upload a number of pictures to his Instagram account at the weekend of him working out.
All football in England is suspended until April 30 at present but that date could be pushed even further back when the Premier League meet on Friday, which should give the player adequate time to complete his mandatory four-week national service in the South Korean military.
However, football.london understands that nothing is agreed on as of yet.
Son only has to serve four weeks due to his country's success at the Asian Games in 2018 rather than the 21 months all South Korean men have to complete before they are 28 years of age.
The club allowed the attacker time off in the opening few weeks of the 2018/19 season to represent his country and it proved successful as they won gold after beating Japan 2-1 after extra time.
The current delay to the Premier League season means that Son could potentially return to action by the time it all kicks off again.
With Mourinho previously claiming that he did not expect his player to feature again this term due to the injury he suffered at Villa Park, the fact football is on hold may see him play some part in their remaining nine league games.
