Son Heung-Min reveals secret behind partnership with Harry Kane after Eintracht Frankfurt win

Son Heung-Min revealed why he and Harry Kane combine so well following Tottenham's 3-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt. The duo combined for the 50th time to draw Antonio Conte's level after the visitor's notched ahead in the opening quarter of an hour.

The Spurs captain threaded his counterpart through on goal to mount a historic Champions League comeback. The north Londoners now sit top of Group D thanks to Son and Kane, with just a point separating Marseille in second and Sporting in third.

Speaking to BT Sport, the South Korea international reflected on what was an impressive display alongside his strike partner. Revealing the reason behind their awe-inspiring combination play, Son said: "We just understand [each other] really well.

"I know what H likes to do, and probably H is the same. It’s a good relationship, there’s no secret. It’s always hard work and a good effort, and I think this has always paid off. Hopefully many more [goals to come]."

Son continued as he explained how the win will hand Spurs a huge boost amid a rocky period of form. He said: "The result gives us all a boost. I think it’s really important we keep the positive things and there is always going to be something we can improve.

"The last five minutes were really, really tough moments. In the Champions League we never know what’s going to happen, especially 3-2 in the last five minutes. It’s always tough so it was uncomfortable sitting on the bench and watching team-mates suffering. The most important thing is that we got three points."

Son has featured 12 times for Tottenham across all competitions this season, directly contributing towards seven goals. While he's impressed in brief cameos, the forward has struggled to garner much momentum and reach the towering heights he managed last season.

The South Korean will be hoping that his performance versus Eintracht Frankfurt will be a catalyst for some good form during the rest of the campaign.
