Tottenham Hotspur star Son Heung-Min has sent an emotional message over the recent departure of Antonio Conte ahead of the clash with Everton.

Everton are currently in 15th place in the Premier League table and two points above the relegation zone. Tottenham are in fourth place but are now reeling from the departure of Conte.

Cristian Stellini has been placed in charge of the North London club until the end of the season. Son was one of several Tottenham players on international duty over the last two weeks.

Son featured for South Korea in their matches against Colombia and Uruguay. After losing 2-1 to Uruguay on Tuesday, the Tottenham forward was asked about the exit of Conte and he gave a lengthy response.

“I’m very sorry to him [Conte],” said Son, via The Mirror. “He is a world-class manager, we had a great journey together, I thank him a lot.

“I do not know how other players are thinking about him, but I’m sorry to him.

“I should have shown more, but I couldn’t. I couldn’t help the team and I feel responsible as he left the club. He surely has great ability and experience as a coach and I’m sure he’ll have great success in his other career.

“Coming back to Spurs, I wish to finish the rest of the season in a great way with my team-mates, for our club.”
