A 31-year-old man, Steven James Uricchio, has been charged with murder in the gruesome killing of his 83-year-old father, Marc Joel Uricchio, in Ridgefield, Connecticut. The incident has shocked the community, known for its safety and tranquility.
Police responded to a domestic violence incident at the Uricchio residence, where they found the victim mutilated with his internal organs outside his body. Steven Uricchio was arrested and held on a $1.5 million bond. At his court appearance, he did not enter a plea.
During the arraignment hearing, Danbury State’s Attorney David Applegate described the crime as gruesome but did not disclose further details. Defense attorney Willie Dow raised concerns about Uricchio's mental health, requesting a continued suicide watch due to significant mental health history.
