Former Leeds United defender Danny Mills has questioned the club’s transfer strategy this summer. The Whites have already confirmed the arrival of six new signings with Brenden Aaronson, Rasmus Kristensen, Marc Roca, Darko Gyabi, Tyler Adams and Luis Sinisterra moving to Elland Road.
After three consecutive quiet transfer windows, Leeds were in desperate need of freshening up the squad and have done so with their spending totalling £90 million so far. Another one could be on its way in the coming weeks, too, as Leeds look to seal the acquisition of a new striker to add competition for the likes of Patrick Bamford and Joe Gelhardt.
Leeds have also lost Kalvin Phillips to Manchester City and seem destined to lose Raphinha as well, even if Barcelona’s inability to submit the required offer is dragging the saga on. Those two – widely regarded as Leeds’ best two players – will leave huge holes in Jesse Marsch’s squad and as such the club have moved quickly to secure their replacements.

Despite the positive summer, though, Mills is not quite so sure himself, claiming the lack of Premier League experience could come back to bite them.
Speaking on Sky Sports, he said: “They’re bringing in plenty of bodies and the problem you have sometimes is getting all these people to gel immediately. None of these signings know English football or the Premier League.
“Marsch knows these signings but getting them to replicate their work from foreign leagues in the Premier League can be difficult. When you make ten or eleven signings it sometimes doesn’t work.”
