A Somerset tech company that was responsible for issuing Covid vaccine invitation letters and text message reminders during the pandemic has secured £13m in funding from NatWest.
Synertec, which is headquartered in Wellington and specialises in communications automation, said it would use the cash to expand the business, including opening a new site in Milton Keynes.
Tom Baldock, managing Director of Synertec, said the funds would help the company explore new markets and provide jobs.
"We are delighted to receive such vital support in pursuit of our long-term expansion plans," he said. “As a business focused on building meaningful long-term relationships, we really appreciate the true partnership approach taken by NatWest as we look towards an exciting future together."
During the pandemic, Synertec partnered with NHS trusts in England and Wales, which used the company's document automation technology - known as ‘Prism’ - to support the roll-out of vaccines. In the last year alone, the company said it had processed more than 300 million documents.
Paul Grantham, relationship Director at NatWest, added: “Synertec are true pioneers in the industry, showing their ability to offer a unique service at a time of unprecedented need. With our sector led approach to supporting high growth technology businesses, we’re delighted to have supported Synertec with the funding they need to continue to go from strength to strength."
