Some Titans fans already calling for Ran Carthon to be fired

Tennessee Titans general manager Ran Carthon is not off to a good start after pissing off most of the fan base on Day 2 of the 2023 NFL draft.

How did the first-year general manager do that? Well, first he traded up for a quarterback in Will Levis that Titans fans wanted no part of, and then he drafted a running back in Tyjae Spears.

Granted, I get the selections of both in terms of looking to the future at each position and I’m hopeful both will be good, but that is not enough to justify the team avoiding addressing its biggest position of need at wide receiver.

Again, this is not so much about the prospects the Titans picked but rather the team’s approach of avoiding wide receivers through two days.

Making matters worse, the explanations coming from both Carthon and head coach Mike Vrabel didn’t make us feel any better, with the pair revealing the apparent plan is to bank on a late-round wideout to help fill the need.

I’m sorry, but that simply isn’t a winning strategy, especially for a team that has had major issues at the position in recent years, and especially in 2022.

While some fans are going to the extreme and already calling for Carthon’s head, I’m definitely not that pissed off about what has transpired, but I will say my confidence in Carthon and Vrabel has waned quite a bit.

Here’s a look at the frustration expressed toward Carthon following the first two days of the 2023 NFL draft.
