Some older TVs will no longer support Netflix from July: What you can do to keep watching

Netflix will no longer be available on 16 Sony television models from next month, so customers need to take action.

Some Bravia models will no longer support the streaming service without an extension or dongle, the Mirror has reported

Sony’s announcement means that customers will need to either get a Fire TV Stick-type of plug-in to keep watching or upgrade their TV. Games consoles are another option.

The news might alarm some customers with an array of more-ish series and films dropping recently, including the third series of Bridgerton

Until now, all the Bravia TVs have had Netflix built in, with customers just needing to pay a subscription to gain access.

When will the affected Bravia televisions stop supporting Netflix?

Sony said this week that, starting July 24, the Netflix app will no longer be supported on some 2011-14 televisions.

You can use the app up to and including July 23.
