Some of the best thrift shops and vintage stores in Bristol

Bristol is full of thrift shops, vintage stores, charity shops, flea markets and car boot sales - some 151 vintage and charity shops and 10 flea markets and car boot sales to be exact. In fact, we have a whole culture of thrifters living right here in the city - lovers of all things second-hand instead of buying new.

And a new study has even revealed that Bristol is among the top five best UK cities for thrift shopping - losing out only to London, Liverpool, Birmingham and Glasgow. That means that it's actually the thriftiest place in the south west.

The new study, from Betway, used data from Yelp to take cities around the world and search for thrift shops, vintage stores, charity shops, flea markets and car boot sales in each city, combining them to give a total figure. In the final list of 'The Thrifting Capitals' of the UK, Bristol came fifth with a total score of 161.
