Some of the country’s most dangerous female prisoners are set to move to a “mould breaking” new jail within weeks.
Scissor Sister killer Charlotte Mulhall and child killer Karen Harrington are among inmates set to move to the new €53million Limerick prison next month.
Prisoners will have a bedroom style unit in a “therapeutic” environment designed to reintegrate prisoners back into society.

A spokeswoman for the Irish Prison Service said the jail, which will accommodate 50 inmates, is expected to open in July.
A source said: “It will be a far cry from their current surroundings.
“The new jail is like a hotel in comparison.”
