With a new year comes a new season of the reality TV hellscape Married At First Sight (MAFS) and with barely two months left of 2024, tea from MAFS 2025 has already begun to boil. Here’s what we know about the upcoming season.
For folks who’ve yet to feast their eyes on the trainwreck that is MAFS, the drama-fuelled reality TV show follows a bunch of singles who agree to marry strangers in their quest for fame love. Once they wed, the pairs go off and attempt to navigate their relationships through tasks and dramatic AF dinner parties.
Every week, the couples take part in a commitment ceremony, where they reflect on the progression of their relationship and decide to leave or stay in the experiment.
Unfortunately, most of the couples who are set up on the show do not make it beyond the lights, camera and action BUT there are a few couples that have stuck together.
Although MAFS 2025 has yet to cop a premiere date or teaser, it appears that a cheeky insider has spilled all the juicy beans on what’s to come in the upcoming season.
So I guess, this is your spoiler warning? But like with most pieces of reality TV tea, please take it with a grain of salt as Channel Nine has yet to confirm any of these rumours.
Here’s what we know about MAFS 2025.
Runaway Brides and Grooms
In last year’s season, we saw one runaway groom. However, according to an inside source, MAFS 2025 features multiple couples who’ve decided to pull the plug on their wedding journeys, resulting in a “mass exodus”.
According to an insider, three couples called it quits at the first commitment ceremony.
“Losing six people in two weeks is unheard of,” they told Daily Mail Australia.
The publication also reported that “several cast members broke protocol” and quit the show without waiting for the Commitment Ceremony.
“People walking out so soon made the rest of us question why we stayed. Some felt like the whole thing was becoming a joke,” a source who claimed to be a cast member for MAFS 2025 shared with the publication.
But what makes this tea spill quite conflicting is that another insider previously told Yahoo! Lifestyle that MAFS 2025 will feature a “record-breaking” number of participants who’ve remained together.
Maybe it’s all the folks who didn’t run away… Only time will tell.
Steamy Confessions and Secret Relationships
Alongside the mass exodus, the publication also reported that this season is set to have a bunch of twists when it comes to the participants’ private lives.
This includes one couple who reportedly dated before being paired on MAFS, a groom who’s still legally married to their ex and a possible love triangle.
Ai yi yi, just put them in a villa in Mallorca and call it a day!

MAFS Expert John Aiken received a lot of praise for calling out the fucked behaviour that went on during the 2024 season. Especially that fucked “muzzle” comment Jack Dunkley made towards Lauren Dunn.
Per the Daily Mail Australia, MAFS producers have had enough of the shitty antics and are now taking a “tough stance on misogynistic behaviour”.
“As bad as you think it is… it’s worse. This season, we’re not letting any of that behaviour slide,” a “production source” told the publication.
The publication adds that four grooms and four brides will come under fire in 2025 and that the new shift towards shitty behaviour led to a lot of “intense showdowns” amongst the participants.
More fights
Speaking to Daily Mail Australia, MAFS expert Alessandra Rampolla indicated that the 2025 batch is quite stubborn, leading to lots of fights and feuds.
“Participants come in saying they want change, but often end up choosing exactly what they had before,” she said.
“This season delves into the complexity of human behaviour and the challenge of finding a real match.”
As we mentioned previously, there has yet to be an official cast list for MAFS 2025. But thanks to spoilers, paparazzi and gossip accounts, we’ve kinda got a cheeky feeling about who will be getting hitched in the upcoming season.
