Sombrero hat on Sierra Tequila bottles has 'game-changing' use that most don't realise

It seems the saying is true, you really do learn something new every day.

And people have recently been making lots of interesting discoveries - such as why knickers often have a tiny bow on the front and why you should never put rubbish in a stranger's wheelie bin.

Another interesting fact has been doing the rounds online and this time it's all to do with Sierra Tequila, or more specifically the little sombrero that sits on top of them.

Most people might just think the sombrero is cute, then put it straight in the bin - but it turns out there's more to it than meets the eye.

Apparently, the sombrero has several handy uses, including being a lime squeezer and the ideal item to measure out the right amount of tequila for a shot.

But most interesting of all its purposes is that the rim of the sombrero can also be used neatly to salt your glass.

Yes, really!

This "game-changing" life hack was previously shared on Twitter by Jack Mull and has recently resurfaced once more.

He wrote: "I was today years old when I realised the sombrero on the top of the bottle of tequila was so you could salt your glass."

The post garnered more than 1,000 likes and hundreds of retweets and replies.

Jack later added: "Don't even lie, you know you all thought it was just a cute little sombrero for your bottle.

"Game-changer blew my mind."

And he wasn't the only one whose mind was blown.

Someone else said: "You have changed everything."

Another commented: "WHATTTTT NO THIS CHANGES THE ENTIRE GAME."

A fourth proclaimed: "I thought it was just a cute sombrero to put on your pet rat or something."

"I had no idea," added a different user.
