Thousands of mourners gathered to say a final farewell to the Queen on her last journey through the capital.
Crowds lined the streets to watch the moment the Queen's coffin was taken along the Mall towards Buckingham Palace following the funeral service at Westminster Abbey. The sombre scene was accompanied by music of the military bands, punctuated by the chimes of Big Ben.
Mourners along the Mall fell silent as the funeral procession for the late monarch passed them, with some bursting into tears. A mum in the crowd was seen comforting her children and pulling them in for a hug.

The crowd then broke into a spontaneous round of applause as the procession made its way towards Buckingham Palace and circled around the Queen Victoria Memorial.
The Queen's coffin was then taken past the palace and towards Wellington Arch. As the hearse left Wellington Arch, the national anthem was sung while the vehicle was given the royal salute by members of the military parade.
The King, the Queen Consort and members of the royal family are following the hearse to Windsor by car, ahead of the procession to St George's Chapel where a committal ceremony will take place from 4pm.
As the hearse drove off flowers were thrown into the road by members of the public watching from behind a fence.
Others waved Union flags as the fleet of vehicles drove past. Following the departure of the coffin and the royal family, the bells at Westminster Abbey began to ring out.
