The Canneseries competition jury for this year has been announced, with 'The Killing' star Sofie Gråbøl set to lead the panel. Gråbøl, known for her roles in various TV series and films, will be joined by a diverse group of industry professionals on the jury.
The jury members include Olivier Abbou, a director, screenwriter, and producer known for 'Madame Hollywood'; Amine Bouhafa, the composer of 'Four Daughters'; Alice Braga, acclaimed for her role in 'City of God'; Macarena García, known for her performance in 'Blancanieves'; and Alix Poisson, recognized for her work in 'Samber.'
Together, the jury will evaluate the eight series in competition and announce the winners on April 10. The lineup of series competing in the festival includes entries from various countries such as Denmark, Norway, Brazil, Belgium, Serbia, Spain, Sweden, China, and Germany.
Canneseries' artistic director, Albin Lewi, expressed his excitement for this year's edition, highlighting the festival's resilience in the face of challenges like the pandemic and geopolitical uncertainties. The festival will also feature series premieres out of competition, including titles like 'Terminal,' 'Becoming Karl Lagerfeld,' 'Fallout,' and 'Fiasco.'
The closing series of the festival will be Apple TV+'s 'Franklin,' starring Michael Douglas as Benjamin Franklin. Canneseries' seventh edition is scheduled to take place from April 5 to 10 in Cannes, France.
