To celebrate Social Work Month globally, the Asean Training Center for Social Work and Social Welfare is hosting an international symposium on "World Social Work Day 2022" at Novotel Bangkok Platinum Pratunam, Phetchaburi Road, on Thursday from 8am to 4.30pm.
Held under the theme "Healthy Society, Stronger Social Work", this is a platform for social workers, practitioners, social work educators and relevant stakeholders to share knowledge and experiences on social work practices in various contexts and settings.
The symposium is aimed to increase and enhance the network of social workers in Asean and become an information source for perspectives on cross-cutting issues and other disciplines.
The focus will be the Asean region with some coverage of the Asia Pacific and a few countries in Africa.
Speakers will include Dr Krisana Kraisintu, recipient of the Magsaysay Award; Dr Nirutti Pradubyati from Pfizer; Morita Takahiro, chief representative of JICA; Orna Sagiv, ambassador of Israel to Thailand; and Dr Pansak Sukgraroek, former director of Vital Life/Bumrungrad Hospital.
Also joining will be representatives from USAid/RDMA, the International Justice Mission, Asean-Australia Counter-Trafficking, Amazon Café, Thammasat University, DTAC and more.
Places for on-site participants are for first-come-first-serve registration but everyone is welcome via Zoom and Facebook Live. To register, visit bit.ly/3IEesHc.
