Parents living in Ireland are set to benefit from several social welfare cash boosts between now and the summer, including a €200 lump sum payment in April.
Recipients will get a €100 Child Benefit boost, a once-off increase to the Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance (BSCFA) and some parents will receive a social welfare boost, RSVP Live reports. These payments will come as a massive relief to families struggling amid the cost of living crisis.
Here's everything to know about the exact dates of these upcoming Spring cost of living payments, as well as the extra €200 lump sum will be paid in April and who is eligible to get it.

€200 welfare lump payment in April
In February, after concerns were raised about people continuing to struggle amid the cost of living crisis, Cabinet approved a massive €410m social protection package. This €200 lump sum payment will be given to people who are on social welfare supports for longer than a year, the same groups who received the Christmas bonus in 2022 in line for this latest support sum, such as Jobseeker's Allowance, Carer's Allowance, and more.
Meanwhile, and extra €200 will be paid to people who get Working Family Payment and do not qualify for the extra payment based on another social welfare payment. It should be noted that you can only get one €200 payment even if you get more than one social welfare payment.
There's no exact date yet when the €200 lump sum payment will be in peoples' accounts along with their usual social welfare payments, although it is expected before the end of April.
Child Benefit
According to the Government, the Child Benefit boost is due on June 6, 2023. It's a bank holiday on Monday 5 June, so this payment could be in bank accounts earlier.
Recipients could receive the social welfare payment and the €100 bonus as early as June 2.
Back to School Clothing and Footwear Allowance
The government has confirmed the implementation date of the Back to School payment boost is set to be in bank accounts for June 2023. In 2023, the BSCFA paid for each eligible child aged 4-11 on 30 September 2023 is €260.
This year, the BSCFA paid for each eligible child aged 12-22 on 30 September is €385. Children aged between 18 and 22 years must be returning to full-time second-level education in a recognised school or college in the autumn of 2023.
