Social welfare Ireland: €200 bonus to be paid this week to certain recipients

The €200 social welfare bonus payment is set to be paid out to eligible recipients in the next few days.

The payment, which formed part of the spring cost of living package from the government, will be sent into thousands of bank accounts from this Monday, RSVP Live reported.

When you receive the benefit depends on when you usually receive confirmation of payment of your social welfare.

The Department of Social Protection said they are aware of fraudulent text messages claiming to be from the department.

“These texts will sometimes seek personal information or ask you to verify details, for example, for Cost of Living Payments. DSP staff never ask for such details by text.

“If you receive a text claiming to be from the department, please do not engage and do not share any part of your PPS number, bank account details or any other personal information," they informed.
