Georgia Bulldogs superstar tight end Brock Bowers suffered a high ankle sprain against the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Bowers will undergo TightRope surgery on his left ankle on Oct. 16. He is expected to make a full recovery, but Georgia football has not provided a timeline on his return.
Recoveries from TightRope surgery vary, but a four-to-six week timeline is reasonable. Bowers should be able to return before the SEC championship game. A pair of Brock Bowers’ Georgia teammates have also undergone TightRope surgery this season. Tight end Lawson Luckie missed about six weeks of action after undergoing the procedure.
Georgia and college football social media were saddened to hear Brock Bowers required ankle surgery.
Praying for Brock Bowers
Prayers up for Brock 🙏🏻

Bowers will be out during a few key games
Hate to see Brock Bowers injured.

Bowers should remain 2024 NFL draft's top tight end
Hate to see one of CFB's best players injured but glad he'll be back for the playoffs and for the pre-draft process. TE1 status won't change with this injury. https://t.co/krw5M6QjyZ

Hopefully Bowers can return before his final home game
Not to try and kick your dog while we’re already sad, but it just hit me pretty hard that Brock Bowers will likely never play another snap in Sanford Stadium.
We are all better for having witnessed him the last few years. 🐐 #GoDawgs🏆🏆 pic.twitter.com/YcM4t86Izf

Georgia’s last home game is Nov. 11.
Georgia has overcome injuries before
I remember UGA winning a Natty in 2021 despite not having Pickens for the entire regular season and Washington at the start.
I remember UGA winning a Natty in 2022 despite AD Mitchell missing the majority of the regular season.
If you want a silver lining, there you go.

The Bulldogs have a great wide receiver room
This is why you bring Lovett and RaRa in
6, 5, 84, 1 are as good as any WR core in the conference. Those are veteran guys who will step up. Not worried, we got some Dawgs

Bowers will put in the work to return
Regardless of anyway to spin this, Brock Bowers is fighting his ass off to get back to his teammates. Dude could stop today, walk away Two-Time National Champion and likely Top 5 NFL pick. His chapter is not done in #Athens.

Timeline for another UGA tight end
This isn’t the first time Georgia’s tight end room has dealt with the timeline -to-return game with tightrope surgery this season.
Lawson Luckie got his surgery the week of Aug. 16. He first dressed out Sept. 23 vs. UAB and saw his first game action Oct. 7 vs. Kentucky.

Oscar Delp needs to step up
This does nothing but make me sad. Dawgs are deep, but nobody just replaces Brock Bowers. He’s the literal 🐐
Excited to see Delp take on a bigger role, and McConkey getting healthy could not come at a better time. #GoDawgs https://t.co/ju6ZOc7dVo
