After jumping to a 31-7 lead, the Buckeyes let Notre Dame get back within a score. Then Jeremiah Smith showed up once again to haul in a deep pass on third and long to secure Ohio State’s ninth national title.
It’s been an unbelievable ride for Buckeye fans. The team was counted out after losing to Michigan. But it came together for a postseason run that will be remembered forever in Ohio State history.
