Social media reacts: Georgia football starts slow again

The Georgia Bulldogs are off to a slow start against a weak opponent for a second consecutive week. Georgia and Ball State ended the first quarter tied at 0-0.

The Bulldogs looked sharp on their opening drive before things fell apart. Quarterback Carson Beck fumbled on a third down scramble. Fortunately, running back Kendall Milton recovered Beck’s fumble, but Georgia was forced to attempt a 28-yard field goal.

Georgia freshman kicker Peyton Woodring missed the ensuing field goal attempt. Georgia was forced to punt on its second drive of the first half.

At this rate, Georgia is at risk of losing the No. 1 ranking. The Bulldogs have not gotten off to strong starts in two straight games. In fact, the Ball State game is Georgia’s first scoreless first quarter since the 2022 Auburn game.

Georgia return man Mekhi Mews has looked very good and scored a punt return for a touchdown early in the second quarter.
