Social Enterprise Scotland is recruiting a new chair to lead its board.
The successful applicant will be a voice of governance for the sector and oversee the direction and strategy of the organisation.
Social Enterprise Scotland was recently selected by the Scottish Government to become the representative body for social enterprises. The new chair, who will hold the joint role of board director, will develop the board and embrace new opportunities arising from the evolution to the Single Enhanced Intermediary.
The role carries a stipend of £10,000 per year and the successful applicant would be expected to spend around three to four days a month on Social Enterprise Scotland business, chairing four board meetings a year, while also representing the board at meetings, conferences and events. The initial term of appointment is four years.
Applications will close on 27 November, with interviews expected to take place in the week beginning 5 December.
Chris Martin, chief executive of Social Enterprise Scotland, said: “Social Enterprise Scotland was recently chosen by the Scottish Government to become the Single Enhanced Intermediary for social enterprises in Scotland.
“We work with the diverse and inclusive voices of social enterprise across the country and represent a growing movement.
“This is an exciting time to join our board of directors as its new chair as we seek to embrace new opportunities as they arise.
“We are keen to hear from anyone who believes they fit our requirements to help us champion the sector in Scotland.”
