Martin Boyle just can't stop scoring - and that has to be good news for the goal-starved Socceroos.
The 31-year-old winger continued his remarkable run on Saturday, scoring a double for Hibernian for the third week running, this time in their Scottish Cup 3-0 victory over sixth-tier Clydebank.
Boyle, who had notched a brace against Rangers and Motherwell in Hibs' previous two Scottish Premiership matches, wasted no time in netting again, breaking the deadlock in their fourth-round tie with the West of Scotland Premier League leaders in just over 90 seconds.
He then turned provider, creating the second goal for Rudi Molotnikov just after halftime, before wrapping up the victory just after the hour mark for his 12th goal of the season, to go with his eight assists.
Boyle was taken off to be given a rest soon after netting his 91st goal for Hibs, receiving much acclaim from the home fans, though it may well have stopped him grabbing a hat-trick, such has been his scintillating form for the Edinburgh side.
His goalscoring feats also spell good news for Socceroos' boss Tony Popovic, who could do with such an in-form marksman, the national team having endured plenty of attacking struggles, failing to find the target in three of their last six World Cup qualifiers.
Indeed, Boyle's resurgent form since Christmas after a lacklustre spell consigned to the subs' bench has been spectacular, and he was in the action straight away on Saturday when he notched a tap-in at the front post from Junior Hoilett's delivery.
After halftime, he found Molotnikov with a cross to the back post which the teenager fired home, before the youngster repaid the compliment, his cross into the six-yard box breaking to Boyle, who hammered a half-volley home to ensure Hibs took their unbeaten streak to eight matches.
