Newcastle United have ended the weekend in third place in the Premier League - and are guaranteed to be in a Champions League spot over Christmas after their sensational start to the season.
Even a negative result against Chelsea next weekend won't see them slip out of the top four but their 4-1 win against Southampton was made all the better by Tottenham Hotspur's home defeat against Liverpool in the capital. Manchester United's loss at Aston Villa had already put them ahead of the Red Devils by four points.
And Eddie Howe's team now lead Spurs by a point following their loss at home to Jurgen Klopp's side. United have not finished a season in third spot since the 2002/03 season.

Their last top five finish was in 2012 under Alan Pardew when they qualified for the Europa League. Howe said: "It's important to think back to our position last season.
"It can be forgotten very quickly so I am encouraging the players to enjoy this moment we are in now. I want them to soak in what they are achieving because it was a very difficult game at Southampton."
