SNP MPs Stephen Flynn and Stephen Gethins face no rivals in their bids to run in the 2026 Holyrood elections.
The news comes from the SNP, who on Wednesday announced which Holyrood seats for the 2026 election have only one party nominee.
In an email to members, the party shared that the "next phase of the selection processes" to select the SNP candidates for 2026 had started.
Nominations have now closed and in 46 seats there is only one nominee.
In those cases, SNP members are asked whether they wish to confirm that nominee as their local candidate for next year.
This would mean current MPs Flynn, running in Aberdeen Deeside and North Kincardine, and Gethins, running in Dundee City East, would be named the candidate for those areas once they receive 50 votes.
Once a nominee has 50 votes in support of their candidacy they will officially be declared as the selected SNP candidate.
