SNP MP for Stirling Alyn Smith has married his long-term boyfriend, secondary school teacher Jonathon Ramsay, in Stirling on Sunday.
The couple tied the knot at Bannockburn House, a historic 17th-century mansion which is being brought back to its former glory by a community-owned restoration project
The ceremony, performed by Sarah Burnside from Agnostic Scotland, involved a traditional hand fasting of strands of Smith and Ramsay tartans, and a quaich ceremony blending two whiskies.
The couple met in 2013 and live in Stirling together.
Alyn said: “We’re so happy that we were able to marry, and at a venue we’re both really fond of the volunteers at Bannockburn House have done us proud as have the local suppliers we worked with planning our day.
“When we met equal marriage was not legal in Scotland - it seems crazy to think that now! We’re so glad we were able to have so many friends and family with us for our special day, and look forward to the next phase of our life together."
