SNP membership numbers have reportedly fallen by 5585 in six months.
The latest figures showed the party had 58,940 as of December 31, 2024, down from 64,525 last summer, according to The Scotsman.
A spokesperson told the paper those figures still meant the party was the biggest in Scotland, with a larger membership than all others combined.
In 2019, the party boasted 125,000 members, with the figure halved over the intervening period.
The party has emerged from a torrid couple of years since the resignation of Nicola Sturgeon (below) as first minister.

She quit in March 2023 and was arrested that July, released pending further investigation on the same day.
Her husband Peter Murrell, whom she is to divorce, has been charged with embezzlement as part of Police Scotland’s ongoing investigation into £600,000 which was raised for an independence campaign.
He quit as SNP chief executive amid a row over membership numbers in March, after Sturgeon had quit as party leader.
Former treasurer Colin Beattie was also arrested and released without charge as part of Operation Branchform.

The investigation appears to be concluded with the results of Police Scotland’s probe currently sitting with the Crown Office and Procurator Fiscal Service.
The SNP suffered the loss of 39 seats in last year’s General Election, however First Minister John Swinney has since been credited with steadying the ship as Labour’s poll lead collapsed due to the unpopularity of Keir Starmer’s Westminster Government.
An SNP spokesperson told The Scotsman: “The SNP is the largest political party in Scotland, with a membership greater than all other parties combined, united under John Swinney's vision of a creating better, fairer Scotland for everyone.”
