The SNP has hired a new media chief after the previous post-holder quit over a membership number scandal.
Fraser MacDonald has become head of communications and research for the SNP group at Holyrood after the resignation of Murray Foote.
Foote quit during the SNP leadership contest after it emerged he had provided inaccurate information to the Sunday Mail over the loss of 30,000 members.
He said at the time he had issued “agreed” party responses and acted in good faith.
MacDonald, 28, who is from Milton of Campsie, will start on May 8th.
An insider said MacDonald, who will be moving from an existing communications role for the party, faced a "difficult" job following a close contest that saw Humza Yousaf pip Kate Forbes.
Police are also investigating claims of fraud over how hundreds of thousands of pounds in donations during the leadership of Nicola Sturgeon were spent.
