Many parts of Scotland have been treated to clearer and even sunny weather over the last few days, but that might not last for long.
Meteorologists at the Met Office have said that there could be warmer weather this week, but it may be followed with an Arctic plunge back into the negatives. Right now, Glasgow is forecasted to reach 13C on Thursday, while Edinburgh could see 14C on the same day.
However, that could be followed by snow in parts of Scotland, caused by low pressure and chilly Arctic gusts in the run-up to April, reports The Mirror.
Forecasters have said that temperatures will become milder by mid-week next week, but the mercury could reportedly plunge, bringing in Arctic gusts
The jet stream could bring bouts of rain from the Atlantic, with widespread wet and windy weather expected across the UK. Scotland could expect settling snow over the final days of March and the first week of April.
That is to be preceded by warmer weather, but while temperatures are up, it might not be the clear skies that we would hope for. The Met Office's forecast for tomorrow even warns of "coastal gales" up north.
Met Office meteorologist Rachel Ayers has said that the UK is set to see "continued bands of showers or rain" throughout the rest of this week, despite rising temperatures across the country.
While many parts of the country will experience heavy rain and strong winds, conditions will become more settled in some parts as the week progresses.
Dry weather is expected over the weekend in the north and the east, according to meteorologists, while the west could see continuing wintry weather.
Meteorologist Aidan McGivern said: "Dry conditions on Tuesday. On Wednesday, it is likely to change again with low pressure pushing in from the west and the initial band of rain will likely fall as snow in places, mainly northern hills, before it turns back to rain. It will be an unsettled end to next week but with temperatures recovering."
