The season finale of Snowpiercer on Netflix certainly brought proceedings to a dramatic finish.
The dystopian thriller based on the film of the same name by Parasite director Bong Joon-ho saw some major revelations as the revolution led by Andre Layton (Daveed Diggs) faced a number of roadblocks.
Meanwhile, former ruler of the train Melanie Cavill ( Jennifer Connelly ) was dealt a shock double reunion that teased some major conflict to come.
The next season will also introduce Sean Bean as a major new character who has been teased for the entire first run.
So, what can we expect from the second run of Snowpiercer?
And when will it hit our screens on Netflix?

Snowpiercer season 2 release date
Snowpiercer season 2 has already been confirmed and much of the season has already been filmed.
However, before filming could be completed it was shut down in March due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
As a result not everything was filmed, but this does mean we can likely expect the series in 2021.
We just don't have an exact date yet.

The brakeman and member of the security force on Snowpiercer will be back, but will she and Jinju survive?

One of Melanie's allies and lover who was always aware of her true identity and secrets. He deliberately slowed the train to enable Mr Wilford's Big Alice to get access to Snowpiercer.

One of the few confidantes of Melanie and top chef aboard the train who is in a romance with Bess.
Sean Bean as Mr Wilford
The Game of Thrones star joins the cast as the legendary Mr Wilford, the architect and creator of the Snowpiercer who lost control of his masterpiece to Melanie but has now reclaimed it.
Sam Otto as John "Oz" Osweiller

Snowpiercer season 2 plot
Well, apart from the arrival of Mr Wilford and what effect he and those aboard Big Alice will have on the Snowpiercer, we also have all the issues that Layton will have following the revolution aboard the train.
Showrunner Graeme Manson told The Hollywood Reporter: "It's a huge, huge burden to bear to try to bring the sides together.
"The real, real challenge for Layton is to reconcile the revolutionary with what he may have to be as a politician...
"And then who is on the horizon, but it could be the great Mr Wilford to throw all of that into disarray.
"So already this nascent democracy is under threat."
Will Melanie have much of a future aboard the train? How will she react to seeing Alexandra again?
Will Mr Wilford be the new enemy of the revolution?
