A new prediction from Met Office forecasters have shared when Scotland is set to see snow, as the weather begins to turn across the UK.
As thunderstorms grounded planes and sent the south of the UK into disarray this week, most Scots will be anxiously checking their local forecast for any weather warnings. Thankfully, the north doesn't seem to be set to experience any storms, but snow is expected soon.
As the festive season grows closer, snow is typical for Scotland at this time of year - although in previous seasons, the snow has been delayed until the spring, with the flakes falling in March instead. However, snow showers are expected to begin next month, as November 7 is the start date predicted for the wintry weather.

Long range weather forecast - Friday, October 28 - Sunday, November 6
This period is likely to continue to bring changeable and often unsettled conditions for many. Showers or longer spells of rain are expected to push north through the day on Friday, with the wettest weather affecting western areas, and a chance of some heavier bursts or isolated thunderstorms.
Across the east it could stay mostly dry. Remaining unsettled over the weekend and for the rest of the period, with showers or periods of rain for many, most frequent and heavy in the northwest.
Windy at times, with a chance of gales in the west. Temperatures likely to continue to be mild overnight and warm during the day, trending above normal for this time of year.
Monday, November 7 - Monday, November 21
Unsettled conditions are expected to continue at first, with further heavy rain possible, particularly in the south. An increasing chance of settled weather remains during the second week of November, bringing a potential for colder, drier weather especially for the north and west.
This will likely bring a risk of chilly nights with mist, frost and fog in places, with some snow expected to fall in any showers in northern and western areas.
