Alexander Hamilton made his way onto this week’s Saturday Night Live cold open, courtesy of the one and only Lin-Manuel Miranda. The Hamilton Broadway star reprised his singing role for a sketch about the Founding Fathers, which was going as planned until Donald Trump (James Austin Johnson) interrupted.
Johnson’s Trump talked about being in his “king era,” the inauguration and the early days of his second term.
Miranda did so well through the majority of Johnson’s monologue as Trump, but he cracked when Johnson broke out the line, “he’s in sniffing distance of an EGOT, and he’s got to stand there til I’m done.”
