Sneakerheads were out partying last night in celebration of the upcoming sneaker weekender, Sneakerness LDN. The event promises sneaker lovers the opportunity to view exclusive prototypes, rare samples and vintage designs from well-known luxury designers like Christian Louboutin, among others.
Matt van der Meulen, CEO of Sneakerness Global, was among the sneaker enthusiasts enjoying the launch party at Café KOKO last night. He said: “Look at the people here. It just shows you London is screaming out for an event like Sneakerness.”
Also, there were designer Nicholas Dex, content creator Uptown P; host of basketball show, Hoop Genius Mo Mooncey; and former Love Islander now eBay ambassador, Tom Clare.
“We are really excited for the event. It’s going to be off the chart” said Moses Rashid, founder of sneaker marketplace, The Edit LDN. Mooncey will be hosting a mixed gender 2-v-2 basketball tournament over the event, organised by The Edit LDN.
“The UK sneaker scene is being disrupted and we are pleased to be apart of its growing future with this event” said Rich Mead, a partner of the event.
So what’s all the hype about? If you know your sneakers, you know. Christian Louboutin will host a pop-up and e-Bay will bring a ‘Sneaker Sense Lab’ that allows guests to explore a collection of authentic rare sneakers through touch, smell, sound, taste and sight.
Visitors can also enjoy a rich program of sneaker culture panel talks, DJ sets from UK hip hop and rap artists, meet the community and enjoy refreshments at the Havana Club Bar.
