A popular pub which closed earlier this month to be refurbished has opened its doors for a sneak peek of what to expect once work is complete.
The Organ Grinder on Front Street in Arnold closed its doors to customers on January 10 to undergo renovation work.
Blue Monkey Brewery runs The Organ Grinder pubs across the region, and it's commercial director said the £20,000 work is to make the venue more 'cosy'.
It will be home to the premises' first fire in more than 30 years and the change in layout means there could be space for up to 20 more people to sit inside, with a new colour scheme too.
The length of the bar has been shortened and the top of the bar has been dropped.
There was a water leak under the floor, and more than two tonnes of oak has been removed to make way for a new floor.
Work is due to be completed in less than two weeks' time, and the pub's doors will open to punters again on February 10.
Blue Monkey commercial director Ian Wesley said: "We're hopefully seeing a more positive future in the business now, but having said that we've been so much busier than we thought we would be through the pandemic.
"During lockdown, we remained open as much as we possibly could doing takeaway, and because we didn't know what the future looked like, we didn't do any major work during that time.
"January normally is our quietest period in the pub trade, so we decided over the Christmas dinner table that we would shut the Arnold pub and refurbish it.
"Summer is normally buzzing as there's one of the biggest beer gardens in Arnold here, but it's not been as good during Winter time, so we wanted to make it a nicer, warmer environment along with toned down lighting to sit and have that cosy drink."
The pub was previously a coffee shop before undergoing a complete transformation around five-and-a-half years ago.
Hayley Marsden has worked at the premises itself for nearly 10 years, working in the coffee shop before being taken on by Blue Monkey to carry on working at The Organ Grinder, where she is currently the site's manager.
She said: "People at first couldn't decipher if it was a coffee shop or a pub when it changed, but we managed to convert it into a pub, it stayed like that and people loved it.
"I've got some punters already asking if they can rope off certain areas for VIP, and we have a gentleman called Roger that comes in every day and sits underneath where was a mirror.
"I can't wait for it to reopen and for him to see it, bless him.
"There seems to be a lot more down the other end of Arnold at the moment, with the market being rebuilt and more businesses opening down there, but hopefully we can get a few more bits up this end."
Regulars cannot wait for it to it open again.
Aaron Carter, 35, a carer who lives in Arnold, said: "My bus stop is right next to the pub, so I always pop in when I'm shopping or anything like that.
"I always go in and have a pint, and with being such a regular I ask for the usual and they know what I mean.
"The bar was all the way down into the corner, but they've brought it back a bit.
"I'm looking forward to it reopening."
Robert Boyle, 72, who's retired and lives in Killisick, said: "That's my local, with Covid I have only been in say once a month, but before that I'd be in there two or three times a week."
However one punter missed out.
John Morris, 53, had travelled up to Nottinghamshire from London for a few days, and was hoping to visit The Organ Grinder in Arnold to tick the final one of those pubs off the list.
He said: "I really like a couple of Blue Monkey beers, and I love going to different pubs to see what selections there are.
"Maybe I'll be back up this way in two or three years time!"
