Weaving a tale that seamlessly skips across genres — from thriller to drama to a crime show and back again, "Delete" is from Thai director Parkpoom Wongpoom. This is Parkpoom's debut as a series director after acclaimed theatrical hits like "Shutter" and "Homestay".
Each and every episode presents a complete range of emotions with exciting moments, hard-hitting emotional gut punches, bizarre mysteries to uncover, and frighteningly unexpected atrocities to unravel. Parkpoom also brings his full arsenal of craft and trickery onto the screen with action scenes that will keep your eyes glued to the screen.
The Thai thriller series challenges the idea of secrecy with its central twist — a mysterious device that has the ability to erase a person from existence. Driven by the idea of wishing to delete someone from our lives (we've all been there, let's be honest), the show brings to life the dark tendencies of people, who come into contact with the device's dangerous power.
“'Delete' is a high-concept thriller drama series with an exciting and extraordinary plot that revolves around the darker sides of human nature, especially when complicated relationships come into the picture,” says Parkpoom. “The story will examine a thought-provoking question — 'Have you ever wanted someone to disappear from your life?' — and then take it to the next logical step, 'If we could actually make anyone vanish, would we do it?'
"This will be my first project in a series format and it will cross the lines between genres like action and drama — and even some special-effect spectacles. I had the chance to explore a lot of new approaches and experiences throughout the making of 'Delete'.”
On the other side of the camera is a cast packed with award-winning talent, led by Sarika "Fah" Sartsilpsupa as "Lilly", a woman who has always hidden her real feelings while living with a lovelorn, control-freak husband, who hails from an elite family and runs her life as if he owns it all. Too’s role is filled by acclaimed actor Natara "Ice" Nopparatayapon, while Nat Kitcharit plays famous writer "Aim". Rising star Jinjett "Jaonaay" Wattanasin is "Tong", a lonely boy who finds a new friend in "June", played by Wasita "Charlette" Hermenau as a girl living an isolated high-school life and Too’s half-sister. The series also casts Chutimon "Aokbab" Chuengcharoensukying as "Orn", Aim’s girlfriend and photographer with a tough shell on the outside hiding the tenderness within, and Nopachai "Peter" Jayanama.
"Delete" comes to Netflix on June 28.
