SNAPSHOT OF THE FIRST AFL QUALIFYING FINAL:

Result: Geelong 20.18 (138) bt Port Adelaide 7.12 (54) at Adelaide Oval.

They said it: "We have to move the group forward really quickly. We have to own what happened but we also have to move forward quickly." Port coach Ken Hinkley.

Key moments: Geelong megastar Jeremy Cameron kicks two pearlers. Five minutes into the game, he snaps accurately from 30 metres when a step inside a boundary line. In the second quarter, he dribbles through from about the same distance when hemmed near a different boundary.

The stat: One. Only once have the Power suffered a bigger defeat in the finals - their 119-point grand final drubbing from the Cats in 2007.

Injuries: Port Adelaide's Zak Butters was substituted out in the first minute of the third term because of a rib injury. Geelong's five-time All-Australian Tom Stewart was a late withdrawal - he was nursing a hamstring complaint, but the Cats say he was scratched due to illness.

What's next: Geelong will host a preliminary final at the MCG in a fortnight. Port, staring at a straight-sets finals exit for a second year in a row, host the winners of Friday night's elimination final between the Western Bulldogs and Hawthorn in a knockout semi-final next weekend.
