QUOTE OF THE DAY: "I love you, thank you for supporting me. But when are you going to sleep?" Djokovic said after his 1am finish.

THE MOMENT: Fresh off her return to the tour after a one-month doping ban, Swiatek was embroiled in a double-bounce controversy during her quarter-final win over Emma Navarro.

TOURNAMENT SUMMARY: Swiatek will play Madison Keys in Thursday night's second women's semi-final after two-time defending champion Aryna Sabalenka squares off with born-again Paula Badosa. Gold Coast teenager Emerson Jones has lived up to her top seeding to make the junior girls' quarter-finals and could face Australian wildcard Tahlia Kokkinis in the last four.
