SNAPSHOT FROM DAY 10 OF THE AUSTRALIAN OPEN AT MELBOURNE PARK:

PLAYER OF THE DAY: Spain's Paula Badosa's hot form has continued, qualifying for her first grand slam semi-final. The 27-year-old, who made the quarter-finals at last year's US Open, stunned third seed Coco Gauff 7-5 6-4 in 103 minutes. Once ranked as high as No.2 in the world, the 11th-seeded Badosa declared she was now playing better than ever.

STAT OF THE DAY: After serving for both of the first two sets, Tommy Paul was annihilated in the tiebreakers by Alexander Zverev. Paul picked up just one of 15 points played across the first two set tiebreakers.

QUOTE OF THE DAY: "Buddy, it's a feather! There's millions of them on the court." - German second seed Alexander Zverev lost his cool in comical fashion, receiving a code violation for fuming to the chair umpire about feathers on court.

THE MOMENT: Star Aussie junior Emerson Jones combined with Brit Hannah Klugman to fight back from a set down to beat Mia Pohankova and Jeline Vandromme in a third-set tiebreak in their doubles. Jones is also in the third round of the singles, hoping to end a 30-year junior girls title drought at Melbourne Park.

TOURNAMENT SUMMARY: World No.3 Coco Gauff was knocked out in the quarter-finals with a straight-sets defeat to red-hot Spaniard Paula Badosa. Gauff's wait for a second major title goes on. German star Alexander Zverev appears perfectly placed to finally end the long wait for his grand slam title after downing American Tommy Paul to book a third semi-final appearance at Melbourne Park.
