Snappy Shopper revives offer of £10 worth of shopping - for just one penny

Home delivery app Snappy Shopper has teamed up with more than 100 retailers to offer shoppers a £10 bundle of goods - for just a penny. The special promotion is aimed at helping families struggling to pay for basics during the cost of living crisis.

Dubbed the Big Brand Bundle, the offer is available on the Snappy Shopper app. Costing just a penny it will include items with a combined retail value of nearly £10 with Snappy Shopper and the retailers picking up the cost of the promotion.

The app says substitutes may be used for certain stores, however it will always be a branded alternative. But bargain hunters need to be snappy - the promotion will run from Tuesday, October 18, to Thursday, October 20.

What will each bundle include?

  • 1.75L bottle of Diet Coke
  • A share bag of Haribo Starmix / Tangfastic
  • 140g Maltesers
  • Pot Noodle
  • Tetley’s Tea Bags 40 pack
  • Six packs of crisps (brand such as Walkers, Golden Wonder), and
  • A packet of McVities Chocolate Digestives

It comes after Snappy Shopper retailers offered ‘penny lunch bundles’ including bread, juice, sandwich fillers, crisps and fruit to thousands of families across Scotland, England and Wales. One Snappy customer described the bundle as “so helpful for people struggling with the cost of living”.

How do shoppers bag a bundle?

Download the Snappy Shopper app, or visit the firm’s website for more details. The promotion is for delivery only, which for most stores also includes a fee of between £2-3.

A minimum spend may also be stipulated.

What do Snappy Shopper and businesses involved say about the offer?

Scott Campbell, co-founder of Snappy Shopper said: "As the cost-of-living crisis has escalated over the past few months, we’ve been committed to doing our utmost to lend that helping hand, alongside our retailers, to our customers who might be struggling to cope with rising costs. The response for our one penny lunch bundle has been unprecedented, which has prompted us to go a step further in offering our Big Brand Bundle.

"Not only do the items included in the bundle have a higher value than previous promotions, but they’re all popular household brands. We want to enable customers to treat themselves to the brands they love without paying a premium and that’s exactly what this bundle does.”

Surjeet Notay, store owner at Premier Notay’s said: “If you live in and around Batley, I’d really encourage you to spread the word about this fantastic new offer. Even to get one of these items for a penny is a bargain, but to get seven is unheard of!

"On a serious note, I am so pleased to be able to offer another bundle to support my local community during these challenging times. Hopefully our Big Brand Bundle will allow families to treat themselves this week without breaking the bank.”
