Snake Visits Los Angeles Dodgers Dugout During Game

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Brent Honeywell celebrates after the last out in the top of the seventh inning in Game 2 of a baseball NL Championship Series against the New York Mets, Monday, Oct. 14, 20

A surprising visitor made an appearance during Game 2 of the National League Championship Series between the Los Angeles Dodgers and the New York Mets. In the top of the fifth inning, a snake slithered through the Dodgers' dugout, causing a moment of intrigue among players and spectators.

Despite the unexpected guest, the snake was described as not being large enough to cause any real alarm. Relief pitcher Brent Honeywell even humorously remarked that he hoped the snake would bring some luck to the team as a 'rally snake.'

Quick action was taken to ensure the safety of everyone involved, as a member of the grounds crew swiftly wrapped the snake in a towel and removed it from the dugout.

The incident prompted some lighthearted commentary, with Fox play-by-play commentator Joe Davis joking about the snake's cameo appearance in the dugout. This unusual occurrence drew comparisons to past animal encounters in sports, such as the infamous 'rally goose' incident at Dodger Stadium involving the San Diego Padres in 2022.

While the snake's visit may not have had a significant impact on the game's outcome, it certainly added a memorable moment to the playoff matchup between the Dodgers and the Mets.
