The Office for Products, Safety and Standards (OPSS) has recalled products this month due to various risks they pose on customers.
Some of the safety fears include risk of fire, chemical risk and electric shocks. Brands recalling items this month include Smyths Toys, Next and Amazon for products such as electric scooters, wellies and lights.
When the OPSS issues a recall, it shares details on what you should do if you have bought the item, what is happening with the item, as well as detailed information on why the product is being pulled from shelves.

Hazard: The product presents a risk of fire as the battery in the parent unit may overheat while the product is in use.

Hazard: The product has been recalled for repair as it has been identified that the pin at the base of the handlebar can detach during use, which could result in users falling.

Hazard: The product presents a high risk of electric shock due to insufficient creepage and clearance distances which could cause the product to become live.

Corrective action: OPSS are requiring the recall of the product from end users. The listing has been removed by the online marketplace (Amazon).
