SMU loses turnover battle 6-0, topples Duke in overtime

SMU committed enough turnovers to open a bakery against Duke on Saturday in ACC play.

The Mustangs’ QB Kevin Jennings threw three picks. SMU lost three fumbles. Duke played turnover-less football.

Guess who won the game? Wrong. The Mustangs topped the Blue Devils, 28-27 in overtime.

The extra session saw SMU score first to take a 28-21 lead on a In overtime,  on a 24-yard run by Brashard. Smith.

The Blue Devils got a touchdown pass from Maalik Murphy to Eli Pancol for 25 yards.

Duke went for a two-point conversion and the win but SMU broke up the pass play.

It was the first time since 2011 a team committed six turnovers to the opponent’s zero and the error-prone team won the game.
