Emergency Services issued an alert for road users near Canberra Airport after a grass fire started in the area, while another near the Kings Highway took time to contain in the blustery weather conditions.
Personnel responded to the 200m by 200m grass and bushfire near Majura Road, north of Canberra Airport, about 1.20pm.
Motorists were asked to travel with caution as smoke from the fire was reportedly coming on to the road.
Crews from ACT Fire and Rescue, Rural Fire Service and the Parks and Conservation Service arrived at the location.
An ACT Emergency Services Agency spokesperson said no properties were at threat and the fire had been contained as of 2.15pm.
The cause of the fire was under investigation, he added.
Two NSW Rural Fire Services tanker units responded to a grass fire which started just off the Kings Highway near Bungendore about 11.50am on Monday.
The eight firefighters teams contained the outbreak within several hours.
