Smoke could be seen for miles as fire crews tackled a blaze at a commercial garage in Gateshead.
Crews from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service attended the scene at the back of Mallard Lodge in Felling on Saturday night at around 7.30pm following reports a commercial garage was on fire.
The brigade dispatched appliances to the scene as pumps were deployed in a bid to bring the blaze under control.
The dark smoke could be seen billowing out from the building and could be seen for miles, albeit with visibility obscured by the night sky.
One eyewitness took a picture of the blaze which shows large plumes of smoke emerging from the rear of the commercial garage.
The fire was brought under control and, nearly two hours following the initial report, crews left the scene at 9.38pm.
As it stands, the brigade have not said what the cause of the fire is thought to be.
A representative from Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service confirmed the attendance of crews at the scene in Felling.
They said: "We got the call at 19:30pm of a commercial garage on fire at the back of Mallard Lodge in Felling.
"We dispatched three pumps and three appliances to the scene. We left the scene at 21.38pm."
