Mischievous Jamie O’Hara reckons Celtic will get “pumped” in their Champions League showdown with reigning champions Real Madrid at Parkhead. The shock jock was asked to give his predictions for Tuesday night’s fixtures in Europe’s premier competition.
The loudmouth talkSPORT presenter has upset fans north of the border in the past with some of his controversial takes on Scottish football, including his claim that the Bournemouth manager’s job was bigger and better than Rangers. Now O’Hara could upset the other half of the Glasgow divide ahead of a huge night in the east end of Glasgow. Ange Postecoglou’s swashbuckling Hoops entertain the 14-time Euro kings Real Madrid in a mouthwatering Group F opener.
Celtic have enjoyed some memorable home European nights, including a famous victory over Real’s bitter rivals Barcelona. But former Tottenham and Wolves midfielder O’Hara isn’t giving them much hope of upsetting the odds as he went for a 3-1 win for the visitors. And he is offering little hope of a night for the ages in Glasgow's east end.
As he ran through he fixtures, the 35-year-old said: “What a night this is going to be for Scottish football. Unbelievable. What a fixture. They’re coming after the Old Firm game, winning, 4-0, they’re going to be confident going into it, Champions League. I think they’ll get pumped. I think they’ll get beat comfortably. I’m going to go 3-1.”
